Local woman succumbs to injuries

A press release from the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Sunday, Sept. 11 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tucker County Sheriff’s Deputy B.T. Zirk responded to Nelson Rd. in Thomas. Zirk was notified that somebody had jumped from a moving vehicle.
Once on scene, He observed a woman lying on the ground near the road. Zirk was able to identify the decedent as a 36 year old female from Davis. Tucker County EMS, along with members of the Thomas Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and began to tend to the decendent.
The decendent was transported to Garrett County Memorial Hospital by Tucker County EMS where the she later succumbed to her injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
