Thomas, WV – The Cortland Foundation announced the winners of the Fourth Annual Photography Exhibition. This year, a total of forty-four photographers participated and submitted a total of one hundred and fifty-four images for consideration. In the end, the judge and curator – fine art, nature and landscape photographer Robert H. Clark, selected fourteen images to adorn the walls of the Blackwater Rehab Center and thirteen more to be displayed throughout the facility.
New for 2019, a concentrated display area will be added to the Pendleton Lounge in the Blackwater Rehab Center. The Gallery will include twenty-two feet of wall space and showcase different sizes, orientations, or with wider aspect ratios to allow for even more local images and regional talent to be on display. The Gallery will also be curated by Clark.
As in the past, photographers were asked to submit images that highlight the beauty and activities found in the northern West Virginia and western Maryland area and are representative of the people, places and pursuits found in this region.
“I am very honored to be among those selected this year,” explains local photographer Beth Spencer. “I am lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The fact that my work will be featured alongside so many other great images, all dedicated to sharing the beauty and wonder of this area is humbling”.
Winning photographers for the 2019 Photography Exhibition include George Fletcher from Round Hill, Virginia, David Johnston from Fairfax, Virginia and Tanner Morris of Lewis Center, Ohio.
