The time is now to register for the 2019 West Virginia Women in Agriculture Conference. This year, the conference will be held November 15-16 at the beautiful Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV.
We all know the challenges facing farmers across our nation, and it is becoming more important each year that we work together to strengthen the face of agriculture. As this conference has evolved, we have grown together over the past few years. We are eager to keep moving women in agriculture forward with another great line up of farm tours and sessions.
We hope you will be there to join us for a great weekend of education, networking, and sharing a common interest in agriculture. Friday, we will depart at noon for a tour of local operations, and Saturday, as in past years, you will have the opportunity to pick from a variety of educational sessions within the topics of horticulture, livestock, finance, or, new this year, succession planning. Another highlight for this year’s conference is our keynote speaker, M.E. Yancosek Gamble, Performing Arts Chair at Fairmont State University School of Business, with her timely keynote topic of “Farming in the Digital Age.”
On behalf of West Virginia University and WVU Extension Service’s Agriculture and Natural Resources unit, the Women in Agriculture Team welcomes you to attend the annual West Virginia Women in Agriculture Conference. Please feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts with our team. We look forward to learning with you during this weekend and throughout the coming years as we face challenging, yet exciting milestones for women in agriculture.
Cost for the entire conference is $115 and includes all meals. Youth activities are also available on Saturday. Lodging, if needed, is reserved separately by calling Stonewall Resort at 1-888-278-26447 and requesting the Women in Agriculture room rate. Visit our website at https://extension.wvu.edu/conferences/wia to view the complete agenda, session descriptions, or to register for the conference. If you have any questions, please reach out to Emily Morrow, conference co-chair, at Emily.Wells@mail.wvu.edu or 304-728-7413.
