Elkins, WV – HomePlus is pleased to announce the successfully certification of seven staff members including Steve Stone, Kelley Wilson, Bobbie Ramsey, Angie Lewis, Jessica Howell, Dave Riddle and Nikki Currence.
Each earned Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) certification from the Board for Certification/Accreditation (BOC). Certification is awarded when an individual successfully completes required training and practical experience under supervision, passes a comprehensive examination, and meets nationally-accepted standards of practice.
“Completion of the program allows HomePlus professionals to better serve patients in our community,” said Amy Wyatt, Director.
DME specialists work with patients and their families to ensure proper purchase and set up of medical equipment. In addition they provide education on usage and general maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
“Our patient’s safety and well being is at the forefront of what we do,” said specialist Dave Riddle, CDME. “Whether in the patient’s home or the HomePlus store, we spend time making sure each individual is comfortable and knowledgeable about their medical equipment. The extra time we spend is definitely worth it if it allows the patient to enjoy a better quality of life.”
“Completion of this rigorous certification process demonstrates a high level of commitment to patients as well as to their profession,” said Wyatt. “They consistently achieve outstanding levels of patient satisfaction and positive feedback from patients and family members.”
CDME’s demonstrate broad knowledge of the DME industry, helping with basic repairs, troubleshooting, and home inspections for DME products like oxygen, mobility items, and enteral supplies.
