Featured is the front and back of a 1953 Tops baseball card of Tucker County native professional baseball player Andy Seminick. Andy mostly played and coached for the Philadelphia Phillies.

He was an “older” leader at 30 years of age on the younger “Whiz Kid” Phillies.  They lost the 1950 World Series to the Yankees team that featured Hall of Fame Joe DiMaggio and Yogi Berra.  The Phillies featured Robin Roberts and Richie Ashburn.  All of these gentlemen including Andy are deceased. He was a catcher and pretty good at it.

Andy was born in Pierce, WV on Sept. 20, 1920
