Kiwanis Club of Parsons provides funding for local school
Parsons, WV — Children at Tucker Valley Elementary will benefit from the Kiwanis Club of Parsons with its donation of monies to be used for student need. Classroom teachers have been the recipient of the funds they can use for the benefit of the students, purchases will be approved by those agreed upon by the club and the school administration.
Active in Parsons for more than 50 years, the club recently raised $3,400 to fund donation via the sale of the Kiwanis Corndogs at the local Fireman’s Festival and the Tucker County Fair.
Kiwanis throughout the world have a focus on youth and helping with a variety of projects in our community.
Ken Smith, club member said, “The Kiwanis Club of Parsons supports several local projects to benefit children, including Camp Scholarships, college scholarships, weekend food programs, assisting non- profit agencies and many others. Kiwanis work with the Young Life Group during the corndog fundraisers who assist with the Corndog Stand regularly. We also work with the Red Cross in hosting several blood drives annually, with support from the Tucker County Senior Center, where the drives are held.
The Kiwanis Club of Parsons, welcomes new members who want to serve their community.
