For the past eight years, the American Mountain Theater’s exceptionally talented cast has been bringing you one of the best live music & comedy variety shows in the country.
They’ve also been bringing home the awards and ratings to prove it. AMT has collected a total of 4 awards from the West Virginia Division of Tourism and have stacked up back-to-back TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence, which are only given out to the top 10% of TripAdvisor businesses worldwide, for their consistently high customer reviews.
They will open their ninth season on April 3, 2015 at 7:30 PM, and they plan on working their hardest to keep the rave reviews coming, all while providing a fun, family-friendly, uplifting, and entertaining environment. This year, the West Virginia Division of Tourism (GoToWV) will help celebrate the season opening of American Mountain Theater in Elkins with their “Go Out and See a Show” initiative.
An entirely new Premier 2-Hour Show production will greet new and repeat customers alike when the cast begins on April 3rd, and the performances will run through the end of October. Producer and co-owner, Beverly Sexton said, “Putting a new show together is more challenging and more exciting every year as we all grow and stretch our abilities, while trying to find new ways to please and surprise our audiences.”
AMT features live music & comedy variety shows that are “guaranteed to entertain guests of all ages while remaining entirely family-friendly.” “Many people think that our shows might not be their thing,” said Meggan Sexton, Vice President of Operations, “but once they get out and see one of our performances, they are always blown away. They love them. That’s why we feel we can say that at AMT your entertainment is guaranteed.”
The cast, which is renowned for their musical versatility, performs everything from Southern Gospel, to swing, to pop and rock classics. “We do a variety show. Not too long ago I posted a collage photo to Facebook featuring Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin, Glen Campbell, The Monkees, Ricky Skaggs, Dolly Parton, and others, and asked the question, ‘What do these artists have in common?’ The answer is AMT’s 2015 show,” said Sexton.
In addition to their Premier 2-Hour Show, AMT also offers a History of American Music Show for groups and school field trips, a series of Southern Gospel and Bluegrass concerts, and a festive Christmas Spectacular.
AMT also offers a variety of vacation packages, from a “date-night” dinner and a show package, to exciting excursions that can fill a long weekend with scenic train rides, unique local dining, and comfortable lodging.
Performances are every Friday and Saturday night in April, with the schedule increasing as they move through the season. Visit www.americanmountaintheater.com or call the box office at 1-800-943-3670 for the full schedule and to purchase tickets or get vacation package information.
