Bridgeport, WV—WVU Medicine United Hospital Center is partnering with Vitalant to host a community blood drive on Wednesday, February 4, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Court 1 at The Bridge Sports Complex, 400 Forrester Blvd., in Bridgeport, WV.
Eligible donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment to donate blood and help ensure a safe, reliable supply for local patients. Blood donations typically decline during winter and after the holidays, but the need remains constant.
Donated blood helps trauma victims, cancer patients, people with chronic illnesses, and those undergoing surgery. Donors of all blood types are constantly needed, especially type O and platelet donors. Type O is the most transfused and can help the most patients in emergencies. Platelets help stop bleeding and must be used within a week of donation.
Help patients in February and receive $15 gift card in thanks for your donation.
