Mountain Hospice hosted a free day camp called “Camp Good Grief” in Tucker County on June 20, 2019 at Mill Race Park. The camp was held in effort to help children that have experienced grief. The children learned how to work through their grief with other children in similar situations. The camp had both trained staff and volunteers that helped work with the children through grief related activities. This year’s camp was a heroic theme which included having the local fire departments, police, and EMS to come and speak to the children about their jobs and to share their experiences of grief as part of educating the children in coping with grief. Camp Good Grief is held each year and is free to any child.
