DAVIS, W.Va. – A management contract to operate Canaan Valley Resort State Park near Davis in Tucker County has been awarded to US Hotel and Resort Management, Inc., according to Paul Redford, district administrator with the West Virginia State Park system. The current management contractor, Guest Services, Inc., (GSI) will continue contact obligations through June 30, 2014.

Canaan Valley Resort State Park is a four-season destination in Tucker County. US Hotel and Resort Management, Inc., will assume management of the park facilities under a new contract beginning July 1, 2014.
“Both US Hotel and Resort Management, Inc., and GSI are professional hospitality and property management companies and they are working together to ensure that visitors to the park continue to receive excellent hospitality during this transition period,” Redford said.
US Hotel and Resort Management, Inc., assumes Canaan Valley Resort State Park management July 1, 2014. This is a five-year management contract that was awarded following a bidding process conducted under the guidelines of the West Virginia Purchasing Division. The contract also includes operation of the restaurant and food services at nearby Blackwater Falls State Park.
