Our third house to be featured on the Parsons House Tours is the home of Danielle and Dale Moore. Located on Rabbit Run Road just past the entrance to Tucker Valley Elem. Middle School, this log home is tucked back off the road down a beautifully tree-lined driveway.
The original house was designed and built by Dale in 1990 and had just 2 bedrooms. Since then, the house has undergone many changes. In 2002 they extended the kitchen and added 2 more bedrooms and a family room. 2003 saw the removal of carpet and the addition of hardwood flooring. The latest remodel occurred in 2004 with the addition of a double garage, master bedroom and bath. The home is now over twice its’ original size, providing much needed space for the “yours, mine and ours” family of 6 children who were and are being raised there. You will find this 5 bedroom, 3 bath home to have “primitive” decor along with the many Christmas decorations that adorn this beautiful home.
The Christmas House Tours will take place on Friday, Dec. 1, from 5:00 – 9:30pm. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $5.00 from Shop ‘N Save and City Hall in Parsons and at the Visitor’s Center in Davis. Tickets may also be purchased at the door of each location the night of the tour for $7.00. Participants are encouraged to carpool and to wear comfortable footwear that is easily removed to protect carpets. Hospital shoe coverings will also be provided as an alternative. Locations are listed on the tickets in alphabetical order and directions are provided on the back of each ticket. Tour participants may go to locations in any order they choose. To avoid crowds, you may want to start in Parsons and branch out to Hendricks and St. George. Enjoy!
