The WVDOH is soliciting comments related to the temporary use of the Allegheny Highlands Trail. Kokosing Construction Company Inc. proposes to use a portion of the existing Allegheny Highlands Trail as a temporary access road in conjunction with the construction of the Corridor H project.
The proposed use of the trail will consist of widening a portion of the trail to allow construction equipment to access the construction area near the intersection of US 219 and County Route 219/20 near Moore, WV. This portion of the trail will be shared use and there will be short periods of full closure for safety reasons. This temporary use is anticipated to last 3 years. Signs will be used to inform the public and users of the trail about the construction in the area and any closures or impacts relating to the use of the trail. Reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate any event that may be scheduled for use of the trail to ensure the public’s safety and use of the trail is not inhibited.
Any other State issued permit numbers, if applicable and available: N/A
