Thomas, WV – Cortland Acres celebrated the grand opening of Especially for You on Thursday, March 29 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. In addition to hosting members of the Friends of Cortland volunteers, residents, their families and staff, the event also hosted a Tucker County Chamber of Commerce After Hours to mark its official opening.
“The new gift shop, Especially For You is a bright, cheerful, and welcoming space that greets visitors as soon as they enter the building,” declares Steve Leyh, Executive Director of the Tucker County Development Authority. “It also is a manifestation of Cortland Acres’ commitment to always be looking ahead to the future.”
Open daily, the 650 square foot gift shop is located near the front entrance to Cortland Acres’ main facility and features a unique assortment of home décor gifts, fresh floral arrangements, greeting cards and specialty food items. Volunteers are always available during business hours to help you select a meaningful gift over the phone or in person for free delivery to residents and employees of Cortland Acres, The Pines and Pineview Apartments.
“The grand opening event was a nice way to kick off the spring season,” explains long-time Friends of Cortland volunteer Anne Felty. “The expanded shop allows us to showcase the variety of items we have for purchase with plenty of room for residents of Cortland and other customers to consider the merchandise.”
