Thomas, WV – – In an effort to allow residents face-to-face time with their families while adhering to the no visitation guidelines involving resident safety and social distancing, Cortland has instituted the “Patio Chat”. Taking advantage of accessible outside patio areas, families can schedule a date and time when they can chat with their family on the other side of the window.
“Face-to-face visits using our Patio CHATS helps residents and families stay connected”, asserts Cortland Administrator Beth Clevenger. “The power of staying in touch with loved-ones is undeniable and helps counteract the tendency to feel alone.”
So, plan a Patio Chat window visit soon. Just remember to schedule your visit by calling 304.463.4181. Call our Activities staff to schedule a date and time to Skype or FaceTime a resident. Same telephone number, just dial extension 218.
Communication with residents, their families and our own staff continue through a variety of mediums including external signage at points of entry, letters, phone calls and emails to resident families, a recorded out-going message on our phone system, frequent posts to Facebook and our website, as well as an internal staff bulletin board.
