Davis Medical Center welcomes new Urologist

ELKINS, WV – Dr. Thomas B. Benz, urologist, has joined Davis Medical Center (DMC) and will begin seeing patients in October. His medical practice is located on the first floor of the DMC Outpatient Center in Elkins.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Benz,” said Davis Health System Chief Medical Officer Catherine “Mindy” Chua, D.O., FAAFP, FMNM, CPE. “He brings a depth of urological experience and expertise, and will be a notable addition to the DMC team of providers.”

Dr. Benz diagnoses and treats urologic conditions including all types of urological cancer such as prostate, bladder, testicular, and kidney cancer. Men and women patients can also be seen for kidney stones, bladder infections, voiding dysfunction, urinary complaints like urinary frequency, urgency, or blood in the urine, as well as leakage or incontinence, sexual complaints and vasectomies. He treats both adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Benz earned his medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and went on to complete general surgery and urology residency training at University of Pittsburgh Affiliated Hospitals. Additionally, he has served as an Associate Professor of Urology at the Presbyterian University Hospitals, University of Pittsburgh and the Medical College of Pennsylvania Allegheny Campus, and was on the teaching staff of Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He is Board Certified in Adult and Pediatric Urology by the American Board of Urology, and holds professional membership with the American Urologic Association.
Prior to joining DMC, Dr. Benz practiced urologic medicine at practices in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Alabama, and West Virginia.
