ELKINS – Members of the West Virginia Association of Realtors, the Elkins Randolph Board of Realtors and representatives from Senator Joe Manchin, D-WV, and Senator Randy Smith, R-Tucker gathered at Graceland Inn on the campus of Davis & Elkins College Friday for their quarterly meeting.

President Kathryn Knight of Canaan Realty said the group serves to help those selling and affiliated with realty. She said one of her goals as President is to assure the growth of the Elkins Randolph Board of Realtors serving those in Tucker, Randolph and Barbour counties.

“This will be a modified meeting with speakers from the legislature,” Knight said. “The group helps further education for realtors and affiliates. We promote education, particularly for realtors to promote excellence.”

Knight said West Virginia Association of Realtors CEO Ray Joseph would be speaking about safety issues realtors face. She said recently the group hosted a continuing education course in the valley that attracted nearly 70 participants.

In an address to the group, Manchin said West Virginia is the most naturally beautiful state and said it is home to the most hardworking, creative and dedicated people in the nation.

“When I think about the future of our home state, I have the utmost confidence we are going to continue to expand our horizons, attract more business and continue to foster entrepreneurism on our own,” Manchin said. “That is because in the Mountain State, we know our people are our greatest resource and that we get the best results from working together.”

Manchin said the West Virginia Association of Realtors shares that vision and have demonstrated their dedication for many years.

“You are at the forefront of protecting the public interest of our citizens by offering dependable resources and facilitating the process of purchasing property,” Manchin said. “I sincerely appreciate the Elkins Randolph Board of Realtors for making today’s beneficial meeting possible. Please continue your great work because you are making our great state even more successful every day.”
