A flintknapping demonstration, led by archaeologist Richie Rosencrance, will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 11 in The Stirrup Gallery in Myles Center for the Arts on the campus of Davis & Elkins College. Flintknapping is the production of stone tools most commonly known as arrowheads. The demonstration will include a discussion on raw materials, knapping tools and techniques, types of stone tools and prehistoric lifeways. Anyone who has artifacts they would like to learn more about is encouraged to bring the items to the session for Rosencrance to examine. There is no fee to attend.
