Garrett Regional Medical Center will hold a health screening and job fair at the Davis Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, October 15, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Activities at the open house will include a healthy food demonstration, with samples and recipes provided by the hospital’s Dietician, Ruth Chisolm, RND, LDN. The samples will allow attendees to discover that healthy foods can taste good and be fun to both prepare and eat. In addition, clinical staff will offer free health screenings that include a Body Mass Index check, blood pressure check, and a Pre-Diabetes Risk Assessment. Clinical staff will also be available to answer any questions community members may have regarding services provided at the regional medical center. GRMC has grown significantly in recent years following its clinical affiliation with WVU Medicine. New onsite services include cancer care and infusion therapies, dermatology, nephrology, and heart and vascular care.
Monday’s open house will also feature the hospital’s Director of Human Resources, Laura Waters, providing information regarding current job openings and career opportunities at the 55-bed, acute care hospital. Due to the ongoing growth in services at GRMC, the facility has a host of both part-time and full-time openings available. The positions range from entry level to skilled clinical and administrative openings. GRMC offers competitive pay as well as a comprehensive benefit package.
The event will begin at the fire hall in Davis at 4 p.m., and will go until 7 p.m. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
