Camp Dawson, W.V. – Building on IBM’s commitment to help build a “new collar” workforce, and to prepare military veterans for tech careers, several organizations are collaborating locally as part of a nationwide, public/private initiative. IBM and Corporate America SupportsYou (CASY) will join forces Wednesday, March 21st at Camp Dawson.
IBM’s Veterans Employment Initiative trains and certifies veterans in the use of IBM software widely used by law enforcement, cybersecurity, and national security agencies. Job placement resources are also provided.
This initiative provides former service members with a week of intensive training in the use of QRadar software, free certification, and employment assistance. The class at Camp Dawson marks the kickoff of the QRadar free training for veterans in the United States and Canada. The program is designed to build in-demand technology skills to prepare veterans for “new collar” careers, such as data analysts, that do not always require four-year college degrees. Hundreds of U.S. veterans will participate in the program this year.
