
BRIDGEPORT, WV—Ather Syed, MD, is joining UHC Oncology, having finished his hematology/oncology fellowship at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, in Buffalo, N.Y.
He began his education at Dow Medical College, Karachi, in Pakistan, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. He finished an internal medicine residency at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, N.Y., before going to the Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo.
Widely published, Dr. Syed has co-authored more than 60 papers for professional medical publications, ranging from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine, Journal of Infection and Public Health, to the Lancet Global Health, among others.
He holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American College of Physicians.
Away from the hospital, Dr. Syed enjoys volunteering for non-profit organizations, organizing awareness and charity campaigns, listening to Pakistani pop music, following American TV shows and movies, and listening to motivational speakers, including Tom Bilyeu, Tony Robbins, and Les Brown.
