Friends of Blackwater will host the Lime Rock & Railroad History Day on Saturday, August 13 at noon at the Hendricks City Park.
Featured Speaker will be Lars Byrne, Chairman of the Barbour County Historical Society and Conductor on the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad. Dan Barkley will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Events will include Music by Tom Rodd and others, A Potluck Picnic and Tours of the Lime Rock Cemetery and Ruins.
The town of Lime Rock was located approximately two miles above Hendricks along the Black Fork Grade of the West Virginia Central & Pittsburg Railroad. This historic rail road grade is now known as the Blackwater Canyon Rail Trail.
