The State 4-H Livestock Judging Competition was held Friday, July 20 at WVU.
The event was sponsored by the WVU Extension and the WVU Davis College. Teams from across the state came to participate in the event. 4-Her’s demonstrated their knowledge of livestock evaluation and presented a set of oral reasons. They judged hogs, beef, and sheep.
The Tucker County 4-H Team consisted of Kimber Auvil, Laney Burns, Jacob DeVilder, and MaKenna Evans. Leading up to the contest they spend weeks practicing and preparing. How How to all of our participants! Our team placed fifth in the state. Individually Laney Burns placed ninth, Jacob DeVilder placed 16th, Kimber Auvil placed 20th, and MaKenna Evans placed 38th.
