Local Resident Planning Relief Trip to Texas

“We’ve got to do something.  People are hurting.”  And with those two sentences, Bob Keeler, Parsons resident and Kingsford employee, began planning a trip to deliver help to folks in Texas.  He will be leaving Tuesday, Sept. 26.

As of this moment Keeler has secured a 24 foot box trailer and he is filling it with donated supplies.

He is also asking the community to help.  Items that are needed include adult wipes, hand sanitizers, personal hygiene items, paper towels, baby formula, diapers, baby wipes, cleaning supplies, water, protein bars, etc.  “If you wish to put together flood buckets, please go to http://www.umcor.org/umcor/relief-supplies/relief-supply-kits/cleaning to see how to put them together,” Keeler said.

For drop off times and dates, please call 304-621-1191 and leave a message, Keeler will get back with you.

“Any monetary donations that are collected will be used to help defray the cost of the trip and the relief of the storm victims,” stated Keeler.  You can drop those donations at Southern States or Adkins True Value Hardware.
