Though they’ve been in Tucker County since 1902, Miners and Merchants Bank hosted an open house event to celebrate the grand opening of their new facility at 16000 Appalachian Highway.  Formerly located on East Avenue, this new location offers several new entities along with staying true to the small town atmosphere.

Opening remarks were made by President and CEO, F. Renee DiBacco, the singing of The National Anthen by Lindsey Hull, and the ribbon cutting by the Board of Directors.  Father Timothy Grassi blessed the building followed by the serving of refreshments and the signing up for door prizes.

DiBacco has 48 years experience in banking with nearly 19 years as president and CEO.  Upon graduation from college, DiBacco returned to her beloved hometown of Thomas where she began at Miners and Merchants Bank and worked her way up the corporate ladder.  When asked what advantages this move would offer their business, she replied, “It gives us more opportunities to expand our technological services.”  “I think it was the right move for us,” she continued as she expressed the desire to keep a happy balance between traditional banking services while offering new as well  “I never want to lose track of the small town atmosphere,” she confirmed.

Staff and visitors gathered around a generous offering of refreshments as they toured the new facility

Along with a beautiful and spacious building, they have expanded the drive thru lanes to be more accommodating to larger vehicles as well as making them more user friendly.  In addition, there is a 24 hour ATM as well as a night deposit service that can all be done from your vehicle in a well lit area for safety.  stated DiBacco.  She explained the design process of the new location was critical in their plans as they wanted to keep the same theme as the rest of the town while offering a welcoming look.  “We’re crediting all of this to our good customers,” she said.  “We’re known as the friendly bank,” which she feels is one of the most important aspects to any successful company.

During construction, they made sure to allow for expansion room in the future if need be.  Miners and Merchants is currently fully staffed with local employees.  Miners and Merchants bank in Thomas, offers a wide variety of services with a friendly and helpful staff.
