The Parsons Advocate

We are taught from the one, since being a child, that there is one thing you will not get away with, you can not beat the system. Some do not ever try, but then again there are those who take the challenge. This is mostly in the bad column, but I did see randomly drawn out of all the tickets bought for one of the three lotto drawings. The odds are one in a million for a one million dollars or $980,000,000? I think the last one was for over a billion.

The winner of the lotto is one in a million, but it has happened. I am very happy for the person who won the money, but it will still be an impressive amount of money after taxes. He will live a very different life for sure.

My Momma Said, “As I see it, the difference between being broke after only a few years and having a lotto check after only a few years depends on whether you work hard.” A person who wins the lottery twice, one of his grandchildren was fighting cancer. He said the lottery was a gift from God. The child died and he said that The Lord giveth and he taketh away.

I guess it is just a roll of the dice as to who will live the good life. I do not care about being rich, I want to be happy and healthy. No one wants to see a child or anyone be so sick as to be close to death. To be fair though, we all are just one breath away from death. No one is to be bounded to death by people coming at him/her, but it is to take care of it for the next generation. This will not happen, but it sounds like a good thing.

I know for a fact that it doesn’t take a lotto check to be comfortable and happy. It is nice having money, but not enough to ruin you for someone to trust to take care of it for the next generation. This will not happen, but it sounds like a good thing.

Have a great Thanksgiving and hope all of you have a happy and blessed day. I hope someone is there for you and you for them. If someone having problems and just talk to them. You could make a difference in one day for a person.

You have anyone that would be grateful for just talking to you instead of worrying about bills or if you have enough money to buy food. The one thing that you have anyone that would be grateful for just talking to you instead of worrying about bills or if you have enough money to buy food. The one thing that is not going to change is that the person has to deal with the end of the day you take your life into your hands. I have seen the results of my life, but I am still able to make a change.

Remember to be a good human by doing your actions. Spread a little (or a lot) of happiness and see if you do not get it in return.

Ingredients
• 1 (14 ounce) loaf day-old French bread or brioche, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 10 cups)
• 1⁄4 cup unsalted butter
• 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced
• 1⁄3 cup brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 5 large eggs
• 1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 1⁄2 cups whole milk
• 1 1⁄2 cups heavy cream
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1⁄2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, optional
• Vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for serving
Instructions
• The day before, cut the bread into 1- inch cubes and spread evenly on a baking tray. Leave to dry, uncov-ered, for about 24 hours.
• In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cook, stirring often, until the apples are tender, about 8 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the milk, cream, and vanilla and whisk until well blended.
• Add the stale bread and apple mix-ture to the custard and mix until everything is well coated. Trans-fer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Press the bread into the cus-tard, cover, and chill for at least 1-2 hours (overnight is best). Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and remove the baking dish from the fridge to warm to room tem-perature. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if using.
• Bake for 40-45 minutes, until puffed, set in the center, and golden brown on top.
• Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Enjoy!
