Service interruption for system reliability improvements planned for Parson and surrounding communities on March 11
Mon Power has scheduled an electric service interruption for areas of eastern Tucker County, West Virginia on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Mon Power regrets the inconvenience, but the work is necessary to help enhance service reliability in the area.

The interruption will occur from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., affecting about 3,000 customers in the following areas near Parsons:
North of Parsons, it covers the Route 72 area from Parsons north through St. George to the Preston County line. It serves the Route 38 area from St. George to the Barbour County line. It serves the communities of St. George, Lead Mine, Shafer, and Hannahstown, and the Horseshoe Run, Location Road, Minear Run, Limestone Road, Licking Creek Road, Bull Run Road, and Jonathan Run Road areas.
East of Parsons, the area includes the Route 219 area from Parsons to near the intersection of Route 25. It serves the Route 72 area from the Route 219 intersection southeast through the towns of Hambleton and Hendricks.
South and west of Parsons, the area includes the Route 219 area between Parsons and the Randolph County line, which includes Porterwood, Pleasant Run, Haddix Run, Clover Lick Run and Indian Run.
The work is necessary to complete an upgrade of the transmission line serving a substation near Parsons to ensure service reliability in the area.
Mon Power will attempt to contact affected customers by phone prior to the outage. The outage will be rescheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 18, 2017 in case of inclement weather.
