Vivian Shomo and Faith Moore, members of the Mountaineer Garden Club, attended the Tygart Valley District meeting recently in Buckhannon, which was hosted by the Fred Brooks Garden Club.
WV State President, Carolyn McCafferty presented an update regarding the Blue Star Memorial marker for Veterans which is sponsored by the National Garden Club.
An educational program “Invasive Plants in WV” was presented by Dr. Katherine Gregg, Professor Emerita of Biology of WV Wesleyan College.
Becky Amorese, Tygart Valley District president, presented various awards to participating clubs.
Vivian Shomo was nominated and accepted as the Assistant Director of the District. Members of Emma Scott Garden Club, Fred Brooks Garden Club, and the Stargazers of Rock Cave were alsopresent.
