Members of the Mountaineer Garden Club met at member Jean Long’s residence on recently for the annual picnic. Final plans for the District meeting to be held on Sept.14 at the First Baptist Church were made. Final arrangements were also completed for ordering the Blue Star Memorial which will be placed on RT 72 N beside the current site of the Welcome to Parsons sign. Dedication of the marker is tentatively set for June 2020. Next meeting is September 3, 2019 at Five Rivers Library at 6 p.m. New members welcome.
