RESA instructor and Parsons VFD Captain Tom Klus will be teaching the new recruits all the basic knowledge to become a firefighter in the state of West Virginia.

The recruits are members of four local departments Parsons, Thomas, Davis and Leading Creek.

“Many departments in West Virginia are struggling to keep their rosters full. So our area is very fortunate to have such a large class. The reality is that it is not easy to be a volunteer — the demands set forth by the state are making it harder to find the time,” stated PVFD Chief Kevin White.

“I have the utmost respect for these young individuals for making the commitment to serve their communities as a fireman.”
