Charleston, W.Va. – The Parkersburg Livestock Market has been approved to reopen on Fridays, according West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture Walt Helmick.
The market is located at 740 Frontage Road in Mineral Wells and will be operated by Gary Smith. The order went into effect Dec. 1, 2016.
“After careful consideration of the information supplied, I believe that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Parkersburg and surrounding areas to approve your permit to operate,” said Commissioner Helmick.
Sales will be held on Fridays at 2 p.m. with the first sale planned for Dec. 16. Livestock will be accepted Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m., and Fridays, 8 a.m. until sale time.
