On Thursday, February 22nd the Parsons Senior Center held a Winter Hearts Celebration.
Because this is an Olympic year, the Center was filled with fun Olympic tabletop games for the participants. They were able to do cross-country skiing, ice hockey, the ski jump, curling, the bobsled, snowball toss, snowball ring toss, and biathlon. There were 2 “make & take” stations where the participants could make an ice skater to put on the skating rink and a snowboarder to put on the half-pipe.
The winners were awarded gold and silver medals (Hershey’s kisses.) Those who participated said that the had a good time. At the end of the Olympics they crowned a Winter Hearts King and Queen.
The King is Don “Frosty” Nestor and the Queen is Dessie Sue Carroll.
