Parsons Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous donation from Dominion Energy, Tucker Community Foundation, Kingsford Manufacturing and the City of Parsons, which was used to purchase a critical generator for the fire station. This contribution will significantly enhance the operational efficiency, ensuring that they can continue to serve our community effectively during both routine operations and disaster scenarios.
The new generator will provide essential backup power, allowing the fire station to remain operational during power outages caused by natural disasters, such as storms, floods, or wildfires. This will ensure that our firefighters, and emergency response teams can respond to emergencies without interruption, providing faster assistance and support to residents in need.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation,” said Kevin White, Fire Chief of Parsons VFD. “In times of disaster, it is essential that we have the resources needed to respond without delay. This generator will not only improve the fire station’s ability to operate during power outages but will also increase our ability to provide immediate assistance to those in the community when they need it the most.”
The donation was made possible by the continued partnerships between Dominion Energy, Tucker Community Foundation, Kingsford Manufacturing, the City of Parsons and Parsons VFD. Their support demonstrates a shared commitment to public safety and community welfare.
“Supporting our local fire station is one of the best ways we can contribute to the safety and well-being of our community,” said Bruce Kolsun, Mayor of Parsons. “We are all proud to help ensure that PVFD has the tools it needs to operate efficiently and respond to emergencies without interruption.”
The new generator is fully operational, and the fire station will continue to provide the high level of service the community has come to rely on.
