94e0cd7c-0cf9-4cd9-9c16-e48cb5e82fbcDAVIS, W.Va. – The ski lift at Canaan Valley Resort is now open for guests to ride to see aerial autumn views and fall foliage colors from the peak of Weiss Knob at 4,280 feet.
“The foliage and landscape are beautiful in Tucker County from late September into October, and this is one of the best ways to enjoy the fall colors,” said Canaan Valley Resort State Park Supt. Stan Beafore. “It’s truly a breathtaking experience.”
The scenic chairlift ride is open daily through mid-October from 9 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. A round trip is $7 for adults and $5 for juniors.
Canaan Valley and nearby Blackwater Falls state parks near Davis schedule events that focus on autumn colors. They also offer reduced lodging rates at their lodges, cabins and campgrounds. Savvy Senior weekday rates at Canaan are $65 a night for guests 60 and older. Other packages are available through the autumn season.
The park restaurant, Hickory Dining Room, and the Laurel Lounge overlook the valley plateau and make mealtime a special setting with fall foliage in view.
