Dr. Talia Sotomayor is a Pediatric Pulmonologist who treats diseases of the lungs and related breathing disorders.
She specializes in caring for infants, children, and adolescents with a wide variety of acute and chronic lung diseases. She received her medical degree in Lima, Peru, and completed training in Pediatrics, following her advanced Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Sotomayor was the first Pediatric Pulmonologist providing service in Morgantown at West Virginia University Hospital, for nearly 8 years.
Dr. Sotomayor earned the Patient Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award from 2010 through 2012, and was named one of the 2014 Top Doctors in the State by the American Registry. She focuses her passion in excellence and dedication to patient well-being, and is eager to improve the health of the children of West Virginia and surrounding regions. She continuously updates her training to reflect the most recent Pediatric Pulmonary treatment options for her patients. Dr. Sotomayor is an expert in pulmonary function tests and related diagnostic procedures along with flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy and ciliary biopsies. She has been published in numerous Pulmonary Journals including the American Thoracic Society and Critical Medicine Journal.
