This February 11 at 5 p.m., Tucker County returns to Charleston with a “Taste of Tucker” party at the Culture Center.
This year will be a gala evening event which will allow for more focus and more celebration. The Cultural Arts Center was built in 1976 to showcase West Virginia’s artistic, cultural and historic heritage. It is home to Mountain Stage and the WV State Museum. This location will be the perfect venue to highlight the music, food and craft beers of Tucker County while telling the story of the heritage and future of our communities” said TCDA Director Anne Jones. The Development Authority is working with local businesses to sponsor a coach bus to safely take businesses and citizens to the event.
Every citizen, business and organization is invited to participate. There will be places to display information on topics ranging from internet and road repair to education and state parks. And of course there will be food and music. The Tucker ProStart students will help prepare and serve local dishes and local restaurants, bakeries and breweries are invited to participate. The opportunity to taste our local beers is making this event one of the most anticipated for the legislators this years. And for our local musicians, the chance to play on the same stage as Mountain Stage. To have this whole space to ourselves is a major undertaking and recognizes the importance of Tucker County to the entire state.
Expect many of our state’s leaders to attend, including welcoming remarks from our state delegates, senators and Agriculture Commissioner Walt Helmick.
An event this size takes a lot of work and input. Please email, tuckerevents@gmail.com if you would like to attend. Or you may write Tucker Co Development Authority, PO 176, Thomas, WV 26292 Updates will also be posted on www.tuckerwv.com
