The Tucker County Cultural District Authority (TCCDA) has been working alongside West Virginia University Extension Service to conduct a comprehensive cultural tourism study and create an action plan that addresses the needs of Tucker County. The goal of this project is to understand how the Cultural District Authority can best preserve and promote the county’s unique culture.
Recently, a survey was distributed to all residents of the county. This survey was developed by the WVU Extension Service. Doug Arbogast of the Extension Service, along with his collaborators Peter Butler and Eve Faulkes and their students, have conducted other research efforts in conjunction with these surveys, including interviews, visitor surveys, community focus groups, asset mapping, and personal exploration of the county’s vast resources.
Residents of Tucker County who are not property owners, or did not receive a survey in the mail, may pick one up at the nearest Tucker County post office. Please take a moment to complete the survey and return the completed questionnaire in the postage-paid return envelope at your earliest convenience. The Cultural District Authority would greatly appreciate your participation in this effort. The more diverse and comprehensive response we can get, the better we can help to address the county’s needs.
This study is funded through a grant provide to the Tucker Community Foundation by the Benedum Foundation
