PARSONS, WV – The Tucker Community Foundation has announced that their annual grant cycle has been moved this year. Grant applications are currently being accepted and the deadline to have grant applications turned into the Foundation is Friday, September 19th at 3pm. Tucker Community Foundation will be awarding grant funding to organizations, volunteer groups and people working to make a positive change in their communities in Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Preston, Pocahontas, Randolph, Tucker and Upshur counties in West Virginia, as well as Garrett County, Maryland. To be considered, groups must be working within the foundation’s nine county service area. This year the Foundation hopes to award over $140,000 in grants.

Michael Moore, Chief Financial Officer, said “to download a grant application, go online to https://static1.squarespace.com/static/67b37e6deaa068496bb7e738/t/6871054dc08fdd2c3a4be214/1752237390169/2025+General+Grant+Application.pdf. Paper copies are available at the Foundation’s office at 104 Education Lane, Room 211, Parsons, WV. If you have any questions or need a paper copy mailed to you please feel free to call our office Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 304-478-2930.”

Grant applications must be turned into the Tucker Community Foundation’s office located at 104 Education Lane, Room 211, Parsons WV 26287 by September 19th at 3 pm. They can also be mailed, to PO Box 491, Parsons WV 26287, with a postmark date of September 19th. Grants can be electronically submitted to: grants@tuckerfoundationwv.org.

“Grant season at the foundation is always a time of great excitement. Each year we are reminded of the efforts of hard-working folks who work to make our communities better” said Moore. As a community foundation, our mission is, “Creating opportunities for the individuals and communities we serve”.

Grant applications can cover a wide range of charitable service areas including the arts, education, health and safety, emergency services, community development, parks, libraries, historic preservation and more. In years past, grants have helped a county school system take their 8th grade classes on a ski trip or a city to purchase new equipment for their park or for a volunteer fire department to get equipment for emergency rope rescues.

The foundation’s grant funding is due to the generosity of donors who have established and contributed to the more than 150 endowed funds and unrestricted funds established through the foundation. While some funds are targeted to support specific charitable areas, others are written to have a much wider reach. All grant awards are based on a competitive application process.
