Tucker County Comes Alive with the Sounds of the Annual ‘Pickin’ In Parsons’ Festival

Parsons, W.Va. — Mark your calendars for Tucker County’s annual award-winning Pickin’ in Parsons bluegrass festival from Tuesday, July 29, 2025, through Saturday, August 2, 2025. Enjoy the sounds of over 20 talented musical acts on the banks of the Shavers Fork River at the Five River Campground in Parsons, West Virginia.

An internationally-awarded and a must-attend event for bluegrass lovers, the 2025 Pickin’ in Parsons festival features a diverse lineup of traditional and contemporary sounds. Headliners include No Joke Jimmy’s, Seldom Scene, Authentic Unlimited, Blue Highway and Malpass Brothers.

“We’re thrilled to welcome back the Bluegrass Brothers for their highly anticipated reunion, a moment our longtime fans have been waiting for,” says the festival organizer, John Bowers. “The energy is building as we approach the end of July, with jam sessions and fans preparing to celebrate their favorite bluegrass traditions.”

Adding to the buzz, the festival is hosting the legendary Cox Family for the first time. Known for their Grammy award-winning collaborations and appearances on the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack, the Cox Family brings their unique blend of country and bluegrass harmony to Parsons. Their participation marks a special milestone for the festival, broadening its appeal and bringing new fans together for memorable performances.

Five River Campground provides an idyllic backdrop for this immersive bluegrass experience. offering clean amenities and beautiful scenery for campers and attendees. The campground is located near swimming and kayaking opportunities, as well as hiking and biking trails. Campers can enjoy campfires and jam sessions during the festival. Showers, restrooms and dump stations are available, and generators are welcome. A free shuttle service is also provided to transport attendees to and from local lodging facilities in Canaan Valley and Davis.
