Beautiful weather made for a great day of racing. The Tucker County Fair Association hosted the second annual Tucker County Mud Bog at Camp Kidd in Parsons.   The event had 90 racers and a little under 200 runs through the mud pit. Social distancing signs and markers were seen throughout the grounds, as well as hand washing and hand sanitizing stations.

The event organizers offered free masks at the gate to anyone who wanted them, as well as a cashless option to pay to get into the event. Tucker County EMS and Parsons Volunteer Fire Department were also on scene for an extra layer of safety for the event.

Racing kicked off at 1 p.m. and lasted about seven hours. Event organizer, Daniele Wilfong, said that she was very pleased with the turnout since the event was held on a rescheduled date due to weather a couple weeks ago.

Wilfong said the funds from this event will go to the Tucker County Fair for 2021. Other events that happened during the day were a childrens’ ATV mud bog, where we had roughly 15 participants and a Dash for Cash, where kids under 18 ran through the mud pit on foot for money! There were around 35 youth who participated in the dash for cash. There were also tip boards going around at the event and an AR-15 was won by Mike Louk and an RC car was won by William Ball.

The 2020 Tucker County Fair queens were at the event to help throw out free merchandise into the crowd. Several vendors were on site, including HillBilly Proud, who sells blue collar merchandise and videos the entire mud bog event.

There were six classes in the mud bog: Outlaw, Little Outlaw, Super Modified, Modified, Super Stock and Stock. Glenn Ours had the fastest time of the event with a pass of 2.893 seconds.
