This is a photo of the Baptist Church of Parsons and what would become the Parsonage beside it. The last to live in the parsonage was Rev. Al and Carol Crosten. It was taken down to make room for the addition of the gym. The gym was made possible by a very generous gift left to the church upon the passing of Otto and Ida Lambert. The church was organized December 10, 1892 thru the work of Rev. Amos Robinson of Elkins. The dedication was held September 2, 1906. Rev. C. H. Pack was the first pastor. He and his wife had the parsonage built in 1911 and it was sold to the church for $1,900.00. Arthur Strickler was the treasure from the beginning of the church until 1930 when he died. The bell was given to the church by John D. Rockefeller in 1906. Ideas or comments contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
