The Tygarts Valley Conservation District in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will convene a local work group meeting to discuss conservation programs for 2018-2019 and provide guidance for the Focused Conservation Approach (FCA), and the Environmental Quality Incentive Programs (EQIP).
The local work group includes representatives from cooperating federal, state and local agencies, conservation organizations, and the public to provide localized information on natural resource priorities in the Tygarts Valley Conservation District.
The Tygarts Valley Conservation District covers Barbour, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur Counties. Ben Collier, NRCS District Conservationist and his staff work from NRCS field offices in Elkins and Philippi to cover these counties.
“The local work groups are the foundation of the FCA. The local work group can define conservation needs and help localize efforts to address specific resource concerns,” said Collier.
