Jessica Lynn Miller, of Kingwood, WV, & Michael Ernest Lipscomb, of Fairmont, WV, were married on Saturday, June 29th, at 5:30 in the evening in Davis, WV. The bride’s father both gave away the bride & officiated at the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of the Honorable Lawrance & Susan Miller of Kingwood, WV. She is the granddaughter of the late William Blaine and Gaynell Gorby of Kingwood, WV and Dr. Lawrance and Carmen Miller of Kingwood, WV. The groom is the son of Ernest & Nancy Lipscomb of Parsons, WV. He is the grandson of the late Albert and Vespa Sinclair of Parsons, WV, and the late Clayton “Teddy” and Lillian Lipscomb, of Parsons, WV.
A vibrant double rainbow appeared in the sky right after the ceremony, much to the delight of the wedding party & guests. The Riverside Quartet performed during the wedding ceremony, playing “Can’t Help Falling in Love” as the bride walked down the aisle.
During the ceremony, Ryan & Kristin Stansbury of Morgantown, WV, read “A Lovely Love Story” by Edward Monkton and Pastor Jenny Williams, of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Kingwood, WV, blessed the union with prayer.
Mike King, of Morgantown, WV was the best man. Groomsmen were Eric Lipscomb, of Fairmont, WV, Scott Lipscomb, of Buckhannon, WV, Robert Stansbury, of Pittsburgh, PA, Jonathan Pratt of Louisville, KY, and Eli Davis, of Bend, OR.
Paige Hayes, of Gainesville, VA was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Morghan Getty, of Huntington, WV, Stephanie Sreter, of Los Angeles, CA, Marie Davis, of Wilmington, NC, Laura Anderton, of Atlanta, GA and Becca Kenna-Schenk, of Olympia, WA.
Flower girl Alexis King was escorted by Chance Lipscomb. Ring bearer Trey Tatham-Smith walked the couple’s dog down the aisle.
The bride wore an ivory & gold silk chiffon gown evoking the 1920s. She carried a bouquet of coral roses and feathers with the stems entwined with her great-aunt’s handkerchief embroidered with the wedding date.
Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Lipscomb each wore long gowns in taupe shades, both with intricate beading. The bride’s mother was escorted to her seat by ushers John and Brayden Hayes of Gainesville, VA. The grooms’s mother was escorted by usher Paul Castillo of Los Angeles, CA.
The Roaring 20s themed reception featured the Hillbilly Gypsies, who with their lively bluegrass music, got everyone out on the dance floor. The night ended with dancing to “Country Roads” and a sparkler send-off.
