Free Friday

The First United Methodist Church of Parsons will be hosting Free Friday “Faith and Feast Fellowship Picnic” on Friday August 29, in the fellowship hall. There will be different varieties of sandwiches and summer salads, such as potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, fruit salad, baked beans, etc… and lots of desserts and drinks. Come and bring a friend – everyone is welcome!

Reunion

The Keister-Nestor Reunion will begin at noon on Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Nestor Pavilion on Clover Run.

Knotts Reunion

The 88th annual Knotts Reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Sugarlands Church of the Brethren. Sunday School will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a basket lunch at 12:30 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

Hedrick Reunion

The Bill and Viola Hedrick reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31 at Red Creek Community Center. The event will begin at noon, please bring a covered dish and drinks. Paper products will be provided.

Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon

The Highlands Trail Foundation is again holding its Half Marathon down the Blackwater Canyon from Thomas to Parsons on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Participants may register on RUNSIGNUP.COM. Runner limit is 200 but non-participants are encouraged and welcomed to come cheer everyone on at the start in Thomas or anywhere along the paved trail from Hendricks to the finish line in Mill Race Park, Parsons.
