Elkins, WV – Women’s HealthCare of Davis Medical Center (DMC) has received Safety Certification in Outpatient Practice Excellence (SCOPE) for Women’s Health services.

This prestigious recognition is a program of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and recognizes patient safety in outpatient women’s clinics.

DMC is the first ob-gyn practice in the state to be certified.

Anne Banfield, MD, FACOG, is the Director of Women’s Health Services and Chief of Staff for Davis Medical Center. “SCOPE certification is an outstanding achievement, and demonstrates that we practice safe medicine,” Banfield said. “Following ACOG recommendations ensures our patients receive the very best care.”

SCOPE is a voluntary review program focused solely on processes associated with enhancing safety and reducing risk for patients in the office setting, and distinguishes those offices with the strongest safety practices. The application and certification process emphasizes best practice tools, policies and procedures.

Women’s Healthcare providers include Board-Certified Ob/Gyn’s: Anne Banfield, MD, FACOG; Jorgen Olsson, MD; and Rebecca Seay, MD (Board eligible); and, family nurse practitioner Debbie Ransbottom. They provide a wide-range of obstetric and gynecologic services including prevention and wellness, surgical, family planning, infertility, menopausal, and urogynecology.
