The Eat n’ Reap dinners have been scheduled in Barbour, Randolph, and Tucker Counties. To help offset the cost of the meal each attendee is asked to pay $5 dollars at the door.

Grazing Management

Jeff grew up in southwestern Indiana. He was the Beef Extension Specialist at the University of Wisconsin from 2001 to 2008. During his time in Wisconsin, he had an active research program in forage-based beef production which included investigating the performance of cattle grazing novel soft-leaf tall fescue, phosphorus supplementation of grazing steers, use of cup plant as a roughage source and pasture finishing. Dr. Lehmkuhler accepted an Extension Beef Cattle Specialist position at the University of Kentucky in 2008. He developed the Kentucky Master Stocker program. Jeff is a co-chair of the Master Grazer program committee which delivers the Kentucky Grazing School, Advanced Grazing School, Lengthening the Grazing Season sessions and on-farm pasture management demonstrations. Dr. Lehmkuhler has participated in beef events internationally including the countries Brazil, Ukraine, Belarus and China. He received the 2016 Southern Section American Society of Animal Science Extension Award for his accomplishments in outreach efforts.

This Woods and Wildlife program will provide woodland owners a better understanding of woodland ownership, forest ecology, and the sound application of forest and wildlife management practices. In addition, this program will direct woodland owners to available resources and assistance programs for woodland and wildlife management.

Andrew P. Griffith is an Assistant Professor and Extension Livestock Economist with the University of Tennessee. He started serving Tennessee producers in May 2012 after completing his PhD at Oklahoma State University. Prior to earning his terminal degree, he earned a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Tennessee Tech University and a M.S. degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Tennessee. He is originally from Hampshire, Tennessee where his family operates a commercial cow-calf operation, and where he produces soybeans.
His program has focused on price risk management strategies for both the input and output markets of stocker and feeder cattle. In addition, his program has included livestock production economics and forage production economics.
