PARSONS – Charges were dismissed in Tucker County Magistrate Court Tuesday against Mark Edward Minor, 29, of Fairmont.
Minor was accused of fraudulent schemes for purchasing miscellaneous items, valued at approximately $3,526 and paying with checks drawn on a bank account that was closed.
Minor appeared with attorney Frank Bush, and claimed he did not commit the crime. The victims in the incident agreed that Minor was not the person they had sold the items to. Riley Barb served as Magistrate.
“The victims said Minor was not the one who had purchased the items and written them the checks,” said Tucker County Prosecutor Ray LaMora III. “So the state dismissed the charges.”
Also in Tucker County Magistrate Court:
Jerry Lee Helmick of Parsons appeared before Magistrate Mont Miller. Helmick was charged with one count of battery for an incident at approximately 6:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25. After hearing testimony from both sides, Miller said he did not find probable cause and the charge was dismissed.
Danielle Marie Satterfield, 28, appeared with her counsel Eric Hensil before Magistrate Barb. LaMora filed a petition stating that on Oct. 27 the defendant pleaded guilty of one count of indecent exposure.
“She was sentenced to 12 month jail. That was suspended for 12 months unsupervised probation. On Dec. 30, the defendant was arrested for the felony offense of burglary in Randolph County. One of the terms of her unsupervised probation was not to violate any laws of the state or municipality.”
LaMora said the state was asking that the court determine if she is in violation of her probation and at that point he would be seeking to enter into the penalty phase. LaMora said they were seeking 12 months jail time.
Hensil asked Barb to give Satterfield one more chance.
Barb ordered Satterfield fulfill her original 12 month jail sentence through Oct. 27 at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Deputies from the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department escorted Satterfield from the Tucker County Courthouse Annex to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
