Big Timber Brewing Company has come to Davis with the opening of their Logging Camp. Owner Matt Kwasniewski was on hand for the Grand Opening Friday, June 6th.

Kwasniewski said that he and his wife had enjoyed traveling to Davis from Elkins frequently and had always wanted to expand their business into the area. Kwasniewski said he felt Davis drew a different crowd than he encountered in Elkins, with more tourists from areas such as Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh frequenting the area, that may not otherwise head towards Elkins.

“We knew that Davis was close by to Elkins and you got a whole different crowd because you’ll get a lot of people that come in from D.C. area or Pittsburgh just for the weekend,” Kwasniewski said. “I felt they really rarely ever came to Elkins.”

Kwasniewski said he also felt that his establishment fit well with the area with other alcohol establishments such as Mountain State and Stumptown Ales in the area.

The Grand Opening featured a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m., music by Nick Patella and appetizers from A’La Boards and The Charm Farm.

“Beer and outdoors go well together,” Kwasniewski said.

Kwasniewski is a native of Elkins. Big Timber Brewing Company has been in operation in Elkins since 2014. Big Timber Brewing Company Logging Camp is located at 737 William Avenue in Davis.
