DAVIS – Tucker County Chamber of Commerce members came together Friday for their Annual Membership Meeting at Blackwater Falls State Park Resort. Roxanne Tuesing was selected to serve as the Chamber president for her fourth term. Other officers elected include Steve Drumheller, vice president; Murray Dearborn, treasurer; and Donna Patrick, secretary. Board members include Sarah Fletcher, Nicholas Carr, John Mutscheller, Andy Snyder and Nancy Dotson.
Tucker County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jessica Scowcroft said the chamber has many projects it is working on in the new future including a Chambers After Hours at Canaan Valley Resort.
“I would like to take the opportunity to let you know what has been happening with the Chamber,” Scowcroft said. “Since Bill (Smith) left, we have went into a contract with Verglas Media. They are working on a new website for us that will be under TuckerCountyChamber.org.”
Scowcroft said the website should be up and running by spring.
“We have been highlighting Tucker County Chamber members in the Parsons Advocate ,” Scowcroft said. “We are also updating the Tucker County map. Members will have the opportunity to advertise on the map. It is a county road map.”
Scowcroft said the chamber is hoping to establish a Chamber Business After Hours program in 2016.
Following the business meeting, Julie Dzaack, project coordinator for Heart of the Highlands, updated Tucker County Chamber of Commerce members about connecting trail systems in the local area during the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Meeting.
