City of Parsons Mayor Bruce Kolsun swore-in three Council Members July 2nd. The ceremony took place at the Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau Municipal Building in Parsons. During the ceremony in the council chambers, existing Council Member James “Sam” Humphrey, Jr., new Council Member Seth Rosenau and new Recorder Richard “Rick” Lemons were sworn-in.
Lemons is new to civic government, but has a law enforcement background, said during a special welcome session of the City of Parsons Council, that his focus is on making Parsons prosperous again, water and sewer projects, helping City workers and assisting the Police Department, especially with new challenges that will come with the opening of Corridor H in the area.
Roseanau is third generation Parsons Civic Government. His grandfather Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau was Mayor and the Parsons City Hall is named for him. Rosenau’s father is former Parsons City Councilman and current President of the Tucker County Commission Mike Rosenau.
In the special welcome session, Rosenau said he was focused on helping the youth of the community, water and sewer projects, but especially seeing “the City progress in a positive manner.”
Re-elected Council Member James “Sam” Humphrey, Jr. was not on hand for the special welcome session due to prior commitments, but was present during the Regular City Council Meeting that followed.
Re-elected Council Member David Greenlief, Sr. was sworn-in via telephone.
The next meeting of the City of Parsons will be held Tuesday, July 16th at 6 p.m. at the Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau Municipal Building in Parsons. The meeting is open to the public.
