ATHENS, WV – Concord University and Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College (Eastern WVCTC) have entered into a collaborative agreement, in which Concord will provide the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) program to Eastern WVCTC students. Students will be required to complete the Eastern Associate in Nursing (ADN). Since the coursework is online, this program increases accessibility to students who live outside the area.
Concord University is also pursuing a national accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), which would allow graduates to go across state lines if they want to further their education.
Monica Wilson, Interim VP of Academics & Student Services at Eastern WVCTC says of the agreement, “Our partnership with Concord University presents an exciting opportunity for our RN graduates, offering a seamless pathway to advance their careers through an online RN to BSN program. Through this collaboration, we’re inspiring our nurses with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in today’s dynamic healthcare landscape, ultimately enhancing patient care, driving positive outcomes and continuing their education.”
Michele Holt, Department Chair and Director of Nursing at Concord University, says of the program, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Eastern WVCTC for our online RN to BSN program. We believe the drive and dedication of their faculty and students will provide a seamless transition into Concord University’s BSN program. We look forward to Eastern students joining us to continue their educational journey to excellence.”
